Justin Willis shuts down reports of being let go by UFC

Reports surfaced earlier this week implying Justin Willis UFC heavyweight fighter had been let go by the UFC.

However, speaking to MMA Junkie more recently, Willis denied the claim, confirming that he is still with the UFC and will be fighting sooner than later.

Here’s what he had to say:

“It was a big miscommunication and a technical difficulty between me and the UFC. I’ll put it like that. But everything has been worked out, and you will have a fight in the near future.”

As for the reason given in the report that claimed he had been let go by the UFC, “for not taking a fight with Walt Harris”, Justin Willis said:

“If it was August, or he had a bigger name … just because you want something doesn’t mean you’re going to get it. I’m after people with bigger names.”

“My goal is to be quicker, faster and prettier. When I come back, I’m coming back with a vengeance. Picasso didn’t rush his art, and I’m not going to let these (expletive) boys rush ‘Big Pretty’s’ art. And (Harris, Tuivasa and Blaydes) can kiss my black ass.”
