Mariusz Pudzianowski is slated to feature in one of KSW’s most prominent events of the year. On June 3, at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, KSW Colosseum 2 will showcase Pudzianowski (17-8, 1 NC) in a fight against boxer Artur Szpilka (24-5, 16 KOs in boxing), according to an announcement by the Polish promotion on Wednesday.
Pudzianowski’s second appearance at Colosseum is noteworthy, having also appeared in KSW’s inaugural version of the event in May 2017. After finishing last year with a high-profile match against fellow KSW star Mamed Khalidov, Pudzianowski is making his debut in 2023. Khalidov, a former two-division champion at 205 and 185 pounds, made his heavyweight debut against Pudzianowski and beat the legendary “World’s Strongest Man” competitor in under two minutes. Pudzianowski had won five straight fights before that defeat, all by knockout.
Szpilka, who challenged Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title in January 2016 in New York, where Wilder knocked him out in the ninth round, made his MMA debut last June and has won both of his pro fights thus far.
