“If I have to fight Sean O’Malley again, I’ll make sure to win even more convincingly,” said Petr Yan, who was open to a rematch with O’Malley if he had defeated Merab Dvalishvili.

If Petr Yan had defeated Merab Dvalishvili in his headlining fight at UFC Las Vegas, he was willing to have a rematch with Sean O’Malley.

Yan lost a controversial split decision to O’Malley in their previous encounter, which was his second consecutive loss. In fact, he has only won one out of his last four fights, with the other two losses being another split decision to Aljamain Sterling and a disqualification against ‘Funkmaster’.

Yan was determined to finish his fights, including his upcoming one with Dvalishvili, and forget about his past losses.

Despite being confident in his ability to defeat Dvalishvili, Yan was not underestimating him. If Yan had beat Dvalishvili, he was considering a rematch with O’Malley, and has plans to win more convincingly this time around. Yan’s career highlights include victories over Jose Aldo, Urijah Faber, John Dodson, and Jimmie Rivera.
