Sources close to the matter have revealed that a strawweight encounter between Maria Oliveira and Diana Belbita is set to take place during UFC 289 on June 10. Despite numerous rumors, the UFC is yet to confirm the fight card or the event location.

Maria Oliveira, a proficient fighter who has showcased her skills at RIZIN and Dana White’s Contender Series, has struggled to find her footing in the UFC, where she currently has a 1-2 record. She emerged victorious in a tight split decision against Gloria de Paula but failed to impress the judges against Tabatha Ricci and Vanessa Demopoulos.

Diana Belbita, fondly referred to as “The Warrior Princess”, was set to meet Loma Lookboonmee back in September 2022, but the fight was called off. After previously contesting for the KSW title, Belbita has managed to secure only one win in her four UFC outings, triumphing over Hannah Goldy via a unanimous verdict in 2021.
