Even though he ultimately lost, boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. took home $700,000 for his highly-anticipated comeback bout against Anthony Pettis, who banked $650,000 for his boxing debut win. Pettis, a former UFC champion, is considering another boxing match before returning to MMA, where he most recently competed in the PFL.
UFC veteran Vitor Belfort, who is transitioning to boxing, earned $400,000 for his unanimous decision win over Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, while the latter earned $200,000 for his boxing debut.
Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo collected $425,000 for his majority draw with Jeremy Stephens, including a $200,000 paycheck. Aldo retired from the UFC last year and has been rumored to be attached to a potential exhibition match against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. Other notable payouts at the event included Gina Mazany who earned $10,000 for her victory over Pearl Gonzalez who was paid $50,000 in defeat.
