Bo Nickal, an accomplished wrestler and UFC fighter, is set to make his second appearance in the octagon at the biggest event of the year for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. At UFC 290, which serves as the grand finale of the renowned International Fight Week and will take place on July 8th at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, Nickal is scheduled to face Tresean Gore.
Receiving confirmation from multiple insiders who are familiar with the situation, Nickal officially revealed his plans in an interview with Betr Combat. Nickal’s four-bout professional record includes two impressive first-round submission wins on the UFC’s Contender Series.
Earning himself a contract with the promotion, Nickal’s debut at UFC 285 yielded a stunning victory as he finished Jamie Pickett in the opening round with an arm-triangle choke.
A gifted wrestler who has won a national championship for Penn State, Nickal has demonstrated remarkable prowess in the octagon, having never allowed his fights to go beyond the three-minute mark. In the red corner is Tresean Gore, who has already made it to the octagon for the fourth time after being a finalist on season 29 of The Ultimate Fighter.
Following his initial two losses in the promotion, Gore returned in style last October during UFC Vegas 63, where he secured a savage second-round guillotine choke victory against Josh Fremd. Interestingly, UFC 290 will feature a featherweight championship unification bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez.
