Israel Adesanya secures a colossal win in UFC 287 rematch and earns a large bonus. Kelvin Gastelum also receives a bonus for impressive performance as Fight of the Night

Israel Adesanya has reclaimed his spot as the top middleweight fighter and has once again made the bonus list. His incredible knockout of Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 287 secured him the Performance of the Night bonus, amounting to $50,000.

This victory was not only a win for him to regain his UFC title, but also a revenge from his previous loss inside the octagon. Adesanya had previously lost to Pereira in their first MMA battle, along with two previous kickboxing matches.

After a challenging first round, Adesanya landed two powerful right hands that took down Pereira and won the fight. This victory was special for Adesanya as it was his first knockout win since he defeated Paulo Costa in September 2020, which was also the last time he received a post-fight bonus.

The other Performance of the Night award went to Rob Font, who dismantled Adrian Yanez in the first round, handing him his first UFC loss.

Kelvin Gastelum and Chris Curtis earned the UFC 287 Fight of the Night award for their striking match. Gastelum, who returned after almost 600 days, outworked Curtis to win a unanimous victory and his fourth Fight of the Night bonus in his UFC career.
