According to Caio Borralho, Alex Pereira is poised to defeat Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka with ease in the light heavyweight category

Alex Pereira has signaled his intention to move up a weight division to light heavyweight after losing his middleweight title to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. Caio Borralho, an up-and-coming fighter in the 185-pound weight class, believes that Pereira made the right decision.

Borralho said that if Pereira were to face Adesanya again, he would be the underdog, and the weight cut prior to the fight could also have an impact on his ability to absorb punishment.

Borralho feels that Pereira could make history at light heavyweight, as moving up a weight class would alleviate the extreme weight cutting issues that have been affecting his performance.

Borralho believes that with two wins in the light heavyweight division, Pereira could earn a title shot. However, Borralho does not see it as an easy road ahead, stating that Magomed Ankalaev could be Pereira’s toughest opponent in the division due to his high-level wrestling skills. With that said, Borralho still believes that Pereira would defeat Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill without much difficulty.

Borralho has confidence in Pereira’s style and stature, stating that he is too big for light heavyweight and would easily defeat Hill. Borralho is scheduled to return to the octagon on April 29th in a co-main event bout against Michal Oleksiejczuk after a strong start to his UFC career.
