Aaron Pico’s original Bellator 295 opponent has been replaced by James Gonzalez

Bellator featherweight prospect Aaron Pico is set to make his return to the cage on April 22, but with a new opponent. Originally slated to face Otto Rodrigues, the Brazilian withdrew due to injury, leading to Pico being matched up against James Gonzalez instead. The latter previously shocked the Bellator world with a victory over Cody Law at Bellator 282, and boasts a record of 10-5 with four wins in his last five fights.

Pico was last in action in October 2020, where he suffered a shoulder injury during his bout against Jeremy Kennedy, ending his six-fight winning streak. He now looks to regain momentum in his career with a victory over Gonzalez.

Bellator 295, which will take place at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Hawaii, will also feature a bantamweight tournament final clash between Raufeon Stots and Patchy Mix in the main event.

Rodrigues is currently rehabbing as he looks to reschedule his Bellator debut later this year and extend his impressive 13-fight winning streak, with half of his previous MMA bouts ending in submission victories.
