UFC President Dana White has disclosed that he has big plans for middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira, but these do not include a third rematch yet. Even after Adesanya knocked Pereira out and claimed back his title, White was asked which opponent he had in mind for Adesanya’s upcoming fight.
While some have suggested a third fight with Pereira, he has recently expressed his intention to move up to the light heavyweight category, causing White to focus his efforts on finding a suitable opponent for Pereira in that division.
White also revealed that Adesanya was eager to return to the octagon and that the promotion was looking at potential opponents. Several names have been mentioned, including Dricus Du Plessis, Khamzat Chimaev, and Jan Blachowicz, but White said it is premature to reveal who will be Adesanya’s first title defense during his second reign.
