In an unexpected turn of events, bantamweights Song Yadong and Ricky Simon, who were scheduled to face each other at UFC Vegas 71, will now be the main event fighters on April 29th, at UFC Vegas 72, following Renato Moicano’s injury which led to Arman Tsarukyan withdrawing from the card altogether.

Consequently, Simon will attempt to notch his sixth consecutive win while Song will be looking to improve from his last headlining loss against Cory Sandhagen in September 2022.

The Simon vs. Song fight could determine the trajectory of their careers in the bantamweight division. Meanwhile, the remaining UFC Vegas 71 fight card featuring Curtis Blaydes versus Sergei Pavlovich will proceed as scheduled with a total of twelve fights.
