Brazilian mixed martial artist, Paulo Costa, announced his intentions of taking on Jan Blachowicz in a highly anticipated fight at UFC 288, after Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush’s co-main event was cancelled.
UFC President, Dana White, revealed that a new co-main event was being worked on for the upcoming May 6 card in Newark, N.J. Costa requested a 205-pound card against Blachowicz in a tweet on Wednesday.
Blachowicz responded to the callout, suggesting that Costa had turned down the fight proposal made to him a few days ago. Costa, who is still looking forward to a fight against Khamzat Chimaev in October.
