Welterweight standouts Vicente Luque and Rafael dos Anjos are poised to go head-to-head in a highly-anticipated main event bout scheduled for July 15th in Las Vegas. The news has been confirmed by multiple sources with insider knowledge of the fight and both fighters have verbally agreed to the terms.

Luque, who is widely considered to be one of the most thrilling fighters in the division, has been a consistent presence in the 170-pound world rankings in recent times. Unfortunately, he has recently suffered defeats in his last two fights after previously stringing together four consecutive victories.

This streak included impressive finishes against former UFC champion Tyron Woodley and Michael Chiesa. However, he was subsequently beaten by Belal Muhammad and Geoff Neal.

Now, Luque looks to regain his winning form against another former champion in Rafael dos Anjos. The Brazilian is looking to capitalize on his successful return to welterweight after submitting Bryan Barberena in the second round last December. Moreover, dos Anjos has won three out of his last four fights with his lone loss coming against Rafael Fiziev in a lightweight contest.
