Industry experts discuss Mike Perry’s bizarre triumph over Luke Rockhold in BKFC 41’s headline bout: “Did he actually dislodge a tooth?”

The bare-knuckle boxing fight between Luke Rockhold and Mike Perry left fight fans unsure of what to expect as these two experienced fighters stepped into the ring. Rockhold, a former UFC and Strikeforce champion, was making his bare-knuckle debut after being released from the UFC.

Rockhold’s most recent fight was against Paulo Costa at UFC 278, where he unfortunately lost via a highly-entertaining decision. However, after just one round of action, Rockhold signaled to the referee that something was wrong with his jaw. The referee then halted the fight and awarded Perry the TKO victory, albeit after some initial confusion.

The violent victory of Mike Perry over Luke Rockhold has garnered a lot of attention from the world of combat sports, with fellow fighters giving their reactions. Dan Hangman Hooker referred to Perry as a “dog” and recognized bare-knuckles as the real deal.

Similarly, Proper Mike Malott commented on the wildness of the fight, and Aljamain Sterling questioned whether Perry had knocked Rockhold’s tooth out. Belal Muhammad also acknowledged Perry as a dog.

The fight between Eddie Alvarez and Chad Mendes at BKFC41 was also highly anticipated and captivated the audience. Dustin Poirier congratulated Eddie Alvarez on his victory, and Gilbert Burns Durinho called him a “freaking dog.” Hangman Hooker also remarked that Mendes’ traps were the real winners of the night, while Derek Brunson called the fight between Alvarez and Mendes “crazyyy!”

Frankie Edgar congratulated both Alvarez and Mendes, the latter of whom announced his retirement from the sport. Lastly, Niko Price and Alan Jouban both praised the fight and the fighters’ performances, while Rory Karpf expressed his admiration for the Underground King.
