“UFC 288 Panel Discussion: Can a Victory by Henry Cejudo Against Aljamain Sterling Garner the Most Profit? And Other Topics”

Aljamain Sterling is aiming to make history by becoming the first fighter to record three straight successful defenses of the UFC bantamweight title, but all the talk about his next championship bout is centered around his opponent Henry Cejudo, the two-division champion and Olympic gold medalist.

MMA Fighting’s Shaun Al-Shatti, Alexander K. Lee, and Damon Martin discuss Cejudo’s future plans and the potential consequences of his victory. While Cejudo is a bigger name for the UFC in the short term, his second reign could result in further clogging up the bantamweight division, causing long stretches of inactivity and confusion at the top of the 135-pound ranks.

Although Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns are more deserving contenders for the welterweight title shot, Colby Covington is expected to face Leon Edwards next, putting both Muhammad and Burns on standby.

The most intriguing undercard fights include Jessica Andrade and Yan Xiaonan and the featherweight fight between Movsar Evloev and Bryce Mitchell, but the latter is more likely to steal the show and provide the kind of violence.
