Displaying his versatile skills, “Super” Sage Northcutt managed to secure a submission victory in his recent ONE Championship Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes against Ahmed Mujtaba. It was Northcutt’s first fight in almost four years, and he wasted no time impressing spectators with his ability to utilize a heel hook to lock down the victory just 39 seconds into the bout. Northcutt’s ingenuity was on full display when he shifted the momentum after being taken down by Mujtaba.
Northcutt’s return to the ring was thought by many to be a risky move following his previous defeat, which was inflicted by Cosmo Alexandre. Alexandre left Northcutt with severe facial injuries that took a toll on his career, and he was out of competition for a significant amount of time.
Northcutt proved he had fully recovered from his past injury by putting on a stellar showing and improving his overall MMA record to 12-3. Despite pandemic-related delays, ONE was able to make a stop in America, and it proved to be an excellent comeback for the fighter. After his impressive feat, Northcutt was awarded a $50,000 post-fight bonus in the cage for his victory.
