The opening segment of UFC 288 promotes Henry Cejudo’s comeback and Aljamain Sterling’s pursuit of the gold medal for whipping

This Saturday, as the main event of UFC 288, Aljamain Sterling is determined to put an end to former two-division champion Henry Cejudo’s much-anticipated return. Narrated by actor and regular UFC pay-per-view narrator Ron Perlman in the cold open, the bantamweight championship headliner between Sterling and Cejudo is presented.

Perlman describes Sterling as possessing “the swagger of a generational talent,” with Cejudo dubbed the “gold standard” in reference to his retirement following his successful title defense against Dominick Cruz in May 2020.

Sterling will defend his title for the third time, hoping to extend his reign, while for Cejudo, it is the perfect opportunity to reclaim the gold he never lost before his three-year hiatus. The welterweight co-main event features a short notice matchup between former title challenger, Gilbert Burns, and the surging contender, Belal Muhammad.
