Jamahal Hill is preparing for his first title defense in the UFC light heavyweight division, following the division’s struggle since Jiri Prochazka’s impressive win in June 2022. Prochazka was set to face his predecessor at the end of the year, but an unfortunate injury led to his vacating of the title.
Hill rose to the occasion and claimed the title against Glover Teixeira. Hill had his sights set on Prochazka prior to winning the title and remains confident that his skill level is far superior to Prochazka’s.
Prochazka may be ready to return to the octagon in roughly six months post-injury, Hill is determined not to wait past August for the fight. Should Prochazka not be ready, Hill will face whoever is willing to step up in the division.
