The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s 293rd event is scheduled to take place on September 10th in Sydney

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making a comeback to Sydney, and the much-anticipated event is scheduled for September 10th, 2022. This is the first of the three pay-per-view shows UFC intends to hold in the city over a period of four years. In collaboration with the New South Wales government, the promotion’s stronghold is expected to be established in this key location, according to an announcement by UFC President, Dana White, on Wednesday.

The deal, finalised with the involvement of NSW Premier Chris Minns, is valued at $16 million and designed to attract more visitors to the city, provide support to local businesses, ensure job creation, and sponsor a diverse range of exclusive events.

The location for UFC 293 is yet to be disclosed, however. UFC officials have not issued any official statement on the matter. Qudos Bank Arena (previously AllPhones Arena) has been used by the promotion for previous events. The recent decade-long break in Sydney that was sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic appears to be coming to an end.

While details on the fight card remain scarce, there is growing speculation about who will headline the pay-per-view. The victor of the upcoming UFC 290 conflict between former champion Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis are the favourites to feature. UFC President Dana White also stated that current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will participate in the main event. Adesanya previously won two victories over Whittaker, who surrendered his title to ‘The Last Stylebender’ four years ago.

In conclusion, UFC 293 is expected to be one of the most exciting and significant events in the history of the sport. Given the innovative lineup of fighters, this forthcoming event is set to leave fans across the globe entertained and energised.
