MMA fighter Khamzat Chimaev criticizes Colby Covington and Paulo Costa and claims dominion over two divisions

Khamzat Chimaev, the undefeated fighter with a record of 12-0, feels that he is not only the biggest fish in the sea but the only fish worth watching nowadays. He has not fought in 2023, but he has his sights set on achieving bigger things in the future. While UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards prepares to defend his title against Colby Covington and the middleweight champion Israel Adesanya awaits his next opponent, Chimaev sees an obvious dance partner in former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Chimaev hopes to face Usman at Abu Dhabi on Oct. 21, but for now, nothing has been made official, which has left him feeling frustrated. He went on to explain that there are no money fights anymore, it is only him. He pointed out that a fight with him guarantees a bigger payout and more interest from the fans. He acknowledges that Leon Edwards has the title, but he believes that he is a more promising option for a money fight.

On the other hand, he thinks that Colby Covington is a nobody who hasn’t won a fight against anyone noteworthy. He believes that the UFC gave Covington a title shot because he is from the USA and they want the belt for him, but neglecting Chimaev, who is originally from Sweden but now resides in Dubai.

Chimaev has always had a personal vendetta against Paulo Costa, which is why the news of his fight against Ikram Aliskerov was particularly frustrating. Chimaev wanted to smash Costa and has been vocal about it. He thinks Costa is a nobody who has talked too much but has not accomplished much. He pointed out that Costa only had a close fight against Romero and has won against nobody else that he knows, which is why he feels confident that Aliskerov has a better chance of beating him.

Chimaev is not concerned about fighting against Costa or any other fighter, as he feels that they are all nobodies and that he is the only real contender in the octagon. Chimaev is ready to take on the world and wants to be recognized as the King of both the welterweight and middleweight divisions. He believes that he is the best and that he can beat anyone, including Usman, Edwards, and Adesanya.
