The downfall of Salt Papi, also known as Nathaniel Bustamante, didn’t come as a surprise to KSI, who witnessed his hype train collide with a brick wall at Misfits Boxing 7 against Anthony Taylor, putting an end to his unbeaten boxing run. Despite Salt Papi’s exceptional boxing skills and Taylor’s losing record, it was a shock, but Misfits Boxing’s founder was not taken aback by the outcome. KSI stated that Salt Papi’s decision to take on three rounds gave Taylor an opportunity to execute his plan and make it rough and dirty for the influencer boxer.
Salt Papi couldn’t get his timing right, and by the time he got closer to landing a blow, it was already the third round. Prior to the fight, Salt Papi was considered one of the most skilful combatants in the influencer boxing scene after a string of impressive performances, including knocking out MMA fighter and undefeated boxer Josh Brueckner. Ryan Garcia and Sunny Edwards, two boxers, praised his skills and suggested that the 29-year-old could make a legit career in professional boxing. He acknowledged only KSI and Jake Paul as outstanding influencer boxers and claimed that he would face both before retiring. The talk stumped KSI, who is revered in the influencer boxing scene.
Salt Papi was so overhyped that people put him and KSI on the same level, and KSI had to double-check if he should fight him to show everyone the levels. KSI, who had previously defeated Faze Temper and Joe Fournier, is currently facing Tommy Fury, and people are already predicting that Tommy will obliterate KSI because Jake struggled to beat him. However, KSI doesn’t intend to give up, he claims he can’t fathom losing, and he’s not just a guy who’ll go in and lose.
