Alex Pereira dishes about his meeting with Israel Adesanya at the airport before he defeats Jan Blachowicz for a confirmed title shot

Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya have shared a long-standing rivalry across various combat sports. Although their relationship outside the Octagon has been friendly lately, Pereira insists that it does not mean the two fighters cannot switch back to “war mode” as their competitive history demands.

Pereira stopped reflect on their brief interaction at the airport, which saw them share some laughs, but he remains committed to keeping the rivalry alive. While Pereira is gearing up for his fight against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291, he does not know if he will fight Adesanya again anytime soon, but he is quite optimistic that he will recover in time if he wins the upcoming light heavyweight bout.

According to Pereira, a victory over Blachowicz should earn him a shot at the 205-pound championship. Although Jamahal Hill currently holds the belt, he may soon face Jiri Prochazka before Pereira gets a shot at the championship title. Despite preferring to take on Hill, Pereira acknowledges Blachowicz as a technical fighter, while noting that Hill’s “crazy” yet open fighting style is dangerous, but beneficial to him.

In conclusion, one cannot rule out the possibility of another UFC clash between Pereira and Adesanya given the bad blood between them. But for now, the Brazilian fighter is focused on his upcoming bout with Blachowicz and his desire to fight Hill someday, as this would be a “fight that will sell a lot.”
