Israel Adesanya criticizes judges in UFC Vegas 74 for stealing athletes’ moments of glory repeatedly

Israel Adesanya, a prominent figure in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) had plenty to say about the judges’ decision at UFC Vegas 74. During Saturday’s main event, Adesanya’s teammate Kai Kara-France lost to Amir Albazi through a close split decision. Judges Sal D’Amato and Chris Lee scored the fight for Albazi, while Michael Bell saw it for Kara-France.

The majority of fans and fighters felt that the judges got it wrong, but none more so than Adesanya, who took to social media to express his frustration. He expressed his displeasure with the judges, calling for their dismissal, and even went as far as to say they should “expire quickly and go.” Adesanya’s frustration with the judges was so great without seeing the scorecards, knowing full well that they were likely to make a mistake.

Adesanya also called for the judges to be held accountable for their work, suggesting they be interviewed after fights. It’s clear that Adesanya is deeply passionate about the sport and has strong feelings when it comes to the integrity of MMA. Kara-France, however, was more tempered in his response. Although he was on the receiving end of the unfair decision, he acknowledged that judging is subjective, and that he could have done more to make his case.

Unfortunately for Kara-France, this loss puts him on a two-fight losing streak, having lost against Brandon Moreno at UFC 277. This fighting record places him outside of the flyweight title picture for now. On the other hand, Amir Albazi has won his first five fights in the UFC and now asks for a title shot against the winner of the upcoming Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja rematch at UFC 290 on July 8th in Las Vegas.

In conclusion, it’s clear that the judges’ decision at UFC Vegas 74 has sparked controversy, with Adesanya and Kara-France among those upset with it. The sport of MMA is one that has gotten incredibly competitive in recent years, and with that level of competition comes its own set of challenges, particularly when it comes to ensuring that fights are judged fairly and impartially.
