The PFL 4 weigh-ins took place without any significant issues, except for one major exception. Ty Flores, who is a preliminary light heavyweight competitor, seriously missed weight for Thursday’s upcoming fight night in Atlanta. Flores came in at 211.5 pounds for a 205-pound contest, which means he was 5.2 pounds over the limit, including the allowance for non-title fights that permits an extra pound.
Despite the mistake, the PFL stated that Flores’ fight with Dan Spohn will proceed as planned, with Flores forfeiting 20% of his purse as a penalty and taking an automatic one-point deduction in the light heavyweight standings. On the other hand, featherweight headliners Brendan Loughnane and Jesus Pinedo had successfully made weight, both weighing in at 146 pounds.
Loughnane, the featherweight champion of 2022, is seeking to continue his successful start to the 2023 campaign after defeating Marlon Moraes via second-round TKO in April. The British superstar has won five consecutive fights and has been successful in nine of his ten performances for the league.
Meanwhile, Pinedo is coming off a loss in his PFL debut, having lost a split decision to the undefeated Gabriel Braga in the April event. In addition, two of the top PFL featherweights will also face off in the co-main event as 2021 champion Movlid Khaybulaev will take on Tyler Diamond. Khaybulaev weighed in at 146 pounds, with Diamond a slightly lighter 145.8.
