MMA champion Jon Jones expresses interest in boxing heavyweight champ Tyson Fury and urges Dana White to facilitate the match

Tyson Fury has been the topic of conversation in combat sports lately, with talks of potential matchups against UFC fighters. While the heavyweight boxing champ may not be interested in the octagon, Jon Jones is more than willing to meet him in the squared circle.

Jones expressed his desire to fight Fury and even offered to give him a massive advantage by boxing him. Jones stated, “I would love it if Dana could make that fight happen. That’s one thing about the UFC, we always give the fans what they want to see. Tyson Fury is just such a magnificent opponent, and it would be awesome to make that fight happen. Let’s see what happens.”

Fury has previously made headlines for his verbal attacks on Joe Rogan after the longtime UFC commentator predicted that Jones would defeat him in a one-on-one fight. Jones himself also fired back at Fury after the boxing champ walked back his statement about being a boxer, not an MMA fighter.

Fury has shown interest in fighting in four-ounce gloves and even challenged former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou to a showdown, but the fight has yet to materialize. UFC President Dana White has also expressed interest in setting up a fight between Fury and Jones, but there have been no updates on any progress.

Fury was expected to face Oleksandr Usyk in a title unifier, but negotiations fell through. Jones, on the other hand, has been linked to a November meeting with ex-champ Stipe Miocic, but the fight has yet to be announced.

Jones won the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 285 with a dominant display over Ciryl Gane, marking his first fight since relinquishing his long-held light heavyweight title to move up a division. His hiatus was due to a contract dispute as he sought a payday comparable to that of boxing stars like Fury.
