Patricio Pitbull is setting out to rewrite the history of Bellator as he prepares to step into the ring for his next fight. Currently holding the featherweight championship title, Pitbull has his sights set on even more glory as he seeks to challenge Sergio Pettis for the bantamweight title. Scheduled to take place in June, this headline event could see Pitbull achieve something no other Bellator fighter has done before – holding championship titles in three different divisions.
Pettis, who has been out of action since his spinning backfist knockout in December last year, is not a contender to be taken lightly. Pitbull is well aware of his opponent’s strengths and recognizes that he will be a tough challenge. “He’s patient, and he’s very good at what he does,” Pitbull admits. “So we need to focus on the goal ahead.”
Despite the challenge ahead, Pitbull has his sights set on even bigger things in the future. With Bellator recently announcing a new flyweight division, he sees a path towards holding championships in four different divisions. “I want more,” Pitbull asserts, “I can be a champion of other organizations, or perhaps go after a fourth division title.”
Pitbull is confident in his ability to achieve these goals. He has been working hard on his weight cuts and knows that his body is capable of handling the challenges ahead. “My weight cuts have been perfect,” he shares. “I’m always staying below the featherweight limits without even having to use the bathtub, and we predict that this is going to be an easy, very good weight cut to 135, as well.”
While Pitbull is excited about the prospects that the future holds, he is still focused on the task at hand and is determined to give his best performance against Pettis. He recognizes that this will not be an easy fight and is preparing accordingly. However, Pitbull’s eyes remain fixed firmly on the prize, and he is determined to make history once again. If he succeeds, there is no question that it will be a moment that will go down in Bellator history.
The future looks bright for Patricio Pitbull, and it will be exciting to see what he achieves next. His hard work and dedication have set him apart from other fighters, and he has the potential to become one of the greatest champions in Bellator history.
