UFC 289 saw Michael Chandler applaud Charles Oliveira’s exceptional performance, hoping for a future rematch

UFC lightweight fighter Michael Chandler spoke highly of fellow fighter Charles Oliveira, praising his impressive performance against Beneil Dariush at UFC 289. Although Oliveira lost to Islam Makhachev in their title fight at UFC 280, he put up a great fight against Dariush, snapping the latter’s eight-fight winning streak.

Chandler views Oliveira as a true fighter, impressed with how he approaches his fights and with the progress he has made since the beginning of his UFC career. Although Chandler may be interested in fighting Oliveira again in the future, he admits that the Brazilian fighter looked incredibly strong against Dariush and that he is poised for a title shot rematch with Makhachev.

Oliveira, once considered an underdog but now seen as a champion contender, has come a long way since suffering losses early in his career. Despite these setbacks, Oliveira has continued to improve his game, becoming a recognized fighter in the UFC lightweight division.

In Oliveira fights against high-profile fighters such as Poirier and Gaethje, Oliveira has proven time and again that he is one of the best lightweights in the world. Overall, Chandler is very impressed with Oliveira’s recent performance and is eager to see what he will do next in the octagon.
