The upcoming UFC Vegas 75 event is in need of a new highly anticipated preliminary battle. Unfortunately, due to an injury, Miles Johns has been forced to withdraw from his bantamweight fight against Raoni Barcelos, which was originally slated to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday.
This has resulted in the cancellation of the bout, which was set to close out the preliminary portion of the event. Consequently, Barcelos remains currently without an opponent.
While there is still no clear indication of what will now become the featured preliminary bout, the most recently released schedule suggests that a flyweight fight between Jimmy Flick and Alessandro Costa may possibly be next in line.
Prior to his withdrawal, Miles Johns was set to make his first appearance of the year, having won three of his past four fights, including a unanimous decision victory over Vince Morales back in November of last year.
As for Barcelos, he previously fought in January at UFC Vegas 67, where he was knocked out in the first round by undefeated fighter Umar Nurmagomedov. Over the course of his career, the Brazilian veteran has achieved a 6-3 record inside the octagon.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, UFC Vegas 75 will still feature a total of 13 bouts, including an eagerly anticipated middleweight contenders’ fight between former title challengers Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier, which serves as the event’s headliner.
