Tyson Fury has made it clear that a fight with UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is still a possibility. The two have engaged in a discussion for the past month over how a hypothetical matchup between the two would go, be it in boxing, MMA, or a hybrid rules fight. UFC President Dana White has publicly offered to make the fight happen if Fury expresses interest.
According to Fury, there has already been actual discussion between him and the UFC, claiming that the promotion has sent him an offer for a hybrid rules fight with Jones. It appears that Fury is open to various potential opponents, including former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Fury notes that he has also been trying to secure a boxing opponent, with highly anticipated bouts with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua yet to come to fruition. Fury puts the onus on his potential opponents to step up to the plate, as being “too good” seems to be deterring his potential opponents from squaring off against him.
