Kayla Harrison has not competed since losing to Larissa Pacheco in the final of the PFL lightweight tournament in 2022. Pacheco has indicated that she is open to another fight with Harrison, given the right circumstances. Pacheco believes that this would be a great opportunity to promote women’s MMA and to normalise the fact that women can fight and are just as good as men.
While the PFL did not disclose how many pay-per-views were sold in November, Pacheco revealed that they had exceeded expectations. Despite this, she was not paid extra based on PPV sales and was unaware of how many people bought the card. However, Pacheco feels that she should be paid the same as Harrison now that she has defeated the two-time Olympic gold medallist.
Pacheco returns to action in the co-main event of Friday’s PFL 5 against Amber Leibrock, looking to secure her eighth consecutive win and secure a spot in the featherweight playoffs. Pacheco knows that she now has a target on her back and is not underestimating Leibrock, but remains focused on becoming champion again.
Pacheco believes that she is better and more experienced than Leibrock, with a more complete game, but also recognises that any opponent is dangerous and that she is ready for anything.
