Arman Tsarukyan acknowledged that a fight against Beneil Dariush would be logical, however, his top preference is to battle against Michael Chandler

Arman Tsarukyan has set his sights on two top-ranked fighters at lightweight following his impressive performance at UFC Vegas 75. Tsarukyan secured a third-round TKO win over Joaquim Silva and is now eyeing up Beneil Dariush and Michael Chandler as potential opponents.

Dariush was recently stopped by former champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 289, but if he were to fight at UFC 293, Tsarukyan is keen to face him. However, Tsarukyan has expressed a strong interest in fighting Chandler, particularly as his proposed fight with Conor McGregor looks increasingly unlikely.

Tsarukyan acknowledges that Dariush would be a suitable stepping stone for him on his route to a title shot. Still, he believes Chandler is a more exciting matchup. Chandler, currently a coach on this season’s The Ultimate Fighter alongside McGregor, may still be fighting the Irishman in the future, but with McGregor’s return unclear, Tsarukyan believes the bout looks unlikely to happen. He, therefore, wants to face Chandler himself, citing the potential for a “new generation fighting older generation” match-up.

Tsarukyan is confident in his ability to beat either opponent. His performance against Silva was a notable one, and his record of two consecutive wins reflects this. The 26-year-old is keen to face top-ranked fighters, stating he wants to fight “everybody” and sees himself as the youngest athlete in the top-15.

His post-victory tweet directed at Chandler underlines his confidence in taking on the former Bellator lightweight titleholder. It is clear that Tsarukyan is eager and ready for his next challenge.
