Last Friday’s PFL 5 event in Atlanta went smoothly with only one fighter facing an extended break from the sport due to medical reasons. On Monday, the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission disclosed the medical suspensions handed down from the event.

Patrick Brady suffered a severe knee injury during his preliminary bout with Jordan Heiderman, and as a result, has been shelved indefinitely and will not be cleared to fight without medical clearance. Four other fighters, Matheus Scheffel, Travell Miller, Yorgan De Castro, and Danilo Marques, received 45-day suspensions likely due to their knockout losses at the event.

In the card’s headliner, 2022 heavyweight champion Ante Delija squared off against Maurice Green. Delija emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle that saw him earn a unanimous decision. Unfortunately for Delija, however, competing only once in the 2023 season was not enough to secure him a spot in the 2023 playoffs.

In the co-main event, women’s lightweight champion, Larissa Pacheco, took on Amber Leibrock and secured a win in just 45 seconds. Pacheco’s victory saw her claim the top overall seed in the women’s featherweight tournament and position her strongly to become PFL’s first-ever two-division champion.
