First up, we have Volkan Oezdemir facing off against undefeated Azamat Murzakanov at UFC Paris on Sept. 2. Oezdemir is a one-time UFC title challenger who has seen mixed results since failing to defeat Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship in 2018, with a 3-5 record since. Meanwhile, Murzakanov has impressed in his first three UFC appearances, with wins over Dustin Jacoby, Devin Clark, and Tafon Nchukwi.
Next, we have Kevin Lee returning to the UFC to take on Rinat Fakhretdinov in a welterweight bout at UFC Vegas 76 on July 1. This marks Lee’s first fight in the UFC since parting ways with the promotion in November 2021. Lee was released following a unanimous decision loss to Daniel Rodriguez, his fourth loss in five fights.
Terrance McKinney will meet lightweight prospect Nazim Sadykhov at UFC Vegas 77 on July 15. In five UFC outings, McKinney has alternated between thrills and spills, with a knockout of Matt Frevola and first-round submission of Fares Ziam, but losses to Drew Dober and Ismael Bonfim. Meanwhile, Sadykhov made a successful UFC debut this past February with a doctor stoppage TKO of Evan Elder.
Middleweights Josh Fremd and Jamie Pickett will face off at UFC Vegas 77 on Aug. 12. Fremd earned his first UFC win in three tries this past March after submitting Sedrique Dumas via a guillotine choke. Meanwhile, Pickett has lost three straight fights and is just 2-5 inside the octagon.
Loopy Godinez and Sam Hughes are set to fight at a UFC Fight Night event on Sept. 16. Godinez has been one of the UFC’s busiest fighters since debuting in 2021, with eight fights in just over two years, and has won four of her past five fights. Hughes has fought on short notice and has won three of her past four fights, most recently upsetting the undefeated Jaqueline Amorim.
