Luis Palomino, the BKFC champion, is someone who usually takes center stage during one of the organization’s events. However, he did not attend the April event, which he regretted. At the BKFC 41 event in Denver, Mike Perry defeated Luke Rockhold in the main event and asked for a faceoff with Conor McGregor, who happened to be in attendance.
McGregor entered the ring with a BKFC championship belt on his shoulder; it was a friendly encounter between Perry and McGregor. Palomino says that he would not have been as friendly if he were there. He added that he would have snatched the belt right off McGregor’s shoulder and said who knows what else would have happened.
It seems highly unlikely that the UFC would allow McGregor to reach free agency, but if that ever happened, a BKFC roll-out would be welcomed. However, he did not like that McGregor came into the organization, grabbed the belt and started wearing it without debuting in the organization. Palomino feels he earned the belt through his hard work and effort. He believes that McGregor’s appearance in the ring with the BKFC belt only brought hype to the organization.
Though it may seem like a pipe dream, Palomino knows that stranger things have happened in MMA. Palomino feels McGregor likes the challenge of fighting the best and taking off his gloves to fight him would not make much of a difference. He believes that if McGregor ever takes off his gloves, it would be a 100% guarantee that they would fight each other.
