The explosive heavyweight bout between Justin Tafa and Austen Lane ended in an unsatisfactory manner, courtesy of an accidental eye poke. Known for their finishing abilities, both fighters were robbed of the opportunity to showcase their skills as Lane’s fingers found their way into Tafa’s eye just seconds into the fight.

Blood visibly leaked from Tafa’s eye, prompting officials to give him ample time to recover and decide whether he could continue. Alas, Tafa’s eye remained problematic and the fight was ruled a no-contest. The ringside physician confirmed that Tafa couldn’t see out of his damaged eye.
