Ilia Topuria is happy to hold out for a title fight, but he’s open to facing Max Holloway in Spain

Ilia Topuria is already aiming for his next big UFC fight, adding to his impressive list of victories over the likes of Josh Emmett. He has set his sights on the championship title, specifically targeting Alexander Volkanovski, the current featherweight champion. Although his future is unknown, with the current champion set to defend his title against interim champion Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 on July 8, Topuria is ready to patiently wait for his opportunity to fight for the championship belt.

The dominant fighter expressed interest in facing Max Holloway in Spain, where he currently resides and trains. Despite Holloway’s next fight being scheduled for UFC Singapore against Chan Sung Jung, Topuria remains hopeful to match up against the former UFC champion in the future. Topuria dreams of becoming a UFC world champion and wants to bring the UFC to Spain, making his dreams a reality.

Topuria is confident in his abilities, stating that there is no one who can match his level of skill inside the cage. Even with the long-standing success of Volkanovski, boasting several victories against fighters like Holloway, Jung, Ortega, Aldo and Mendes, Topuria remains unwavering in his goal to put an end to Volkanovski’s reign atop the 145-pound division.

Topuria firmly believes he can finish anyone in this division and sees himself as the man to beat to win the championship belt. With a knockout victory in his sights, Topuria is ready and willing to battle any wrestler and secure his place as the next big name in the featherweight division.
