Caio Borralho has claimed that Bo Nickal is overrated and lacks the ability to compete against top 20 fighters

Bo Nickal, a former three-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion turned MMA fighter, has gone undefeated with four wins in nine months as a professional. Despite this success, fellow UFC middleweight prospect Caio Borralho remains unimpressed with Nickal’s ability in mixed martial arts.

Borralho claimed that Nickal has yet to be properly tested in the sport and that he is only receiving hype due to his wrestling career. Borralho criticized Nickal’s style when fighting, claiming that he can barely move on the feet and describing his performance in previous matches as “too much hype for such low level.”

Nickal’s wins so far have all come in the first round, and he is set to face Tresean Gore in his next UFC match on July 8th. Borralho believes Gore to be at Nickal’s current level, but he does not see the two of them being at the same level as himself. Borralho has three wins under the UFC banner and has previously fought against Makhmud Muradov, Armen Petrosyan and Gadzhi Omargadzhiev.

Borralho co-headlines a UFC event for the third time in July against Michal Oleksiejczuk, a fighter who he believes will provide him with a genuine challenge compared to Nickal.
Borralho makes it clear that he has no interest in fighting Nickal at this time, stating that Nickal must show more and prove himself in the sport with three more fights under his belt before Borralho would consider facing him.

Instead, Borralho plans to focus on his next match against Oleksiejczuk, having previously declared his intention to call out Kelvin Gastelum in the post-fight interview. He sees himself on a clear path toward a top 15 ranking and has no desire to deviate from that plan by fighting Nickal, whom he views as being beneath the level of his current competition.
