Jailton Almeida, the victorious heavyweight fighter at UFC Charlotte, is eagerly calling out Tai Tuivasa for his next match. While he hopes the fight will take place in Brazil towards the end of the year, Almeida is willing to headline in any Fight Night show. He remains pragmatic, however, stating he is pleased with the progress his team has made but won’t let it get to his head. Almeida has an impressive record, winning his last five UFC fights, crushing his opponents with a combined score of 114-2.
After his win against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Almeida stated his interest in going up against Tuivasa, who is widely known for his impressive knockout success. Despite acknowledging Tuivasa’s potential, Almeida is keen to test himself against the dangerous opponent. He believes the fight would be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his skill against a fighter who cuts weight to make the heavyweight limit, making him more compact and harder hitting than Almeida’s prior competitors.
It’s worth noting that the UFC is yet to announce a date for its return to Brazil, but “Malhadinho” is hopeful he can share a stage with Tuivasa on his home turf. When he met with Daniel Cormier after the bout, Cormier invited him to visit AKA, an invitation Almeida intends to accept. In fact, he said, training with former champions might be his ultimate dream. Almeida concluded by emphasizing his preparedness for his next fight, whether it is against Tuivasa or any other worthy opponent.
