Jon Jones berates Israel Adesanya’s skills in the cage

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones apparently will potentially be fighting a frail opponent in the foreseeable future if he gets to engage interim UFC middleweight title holder Israel Adesanya.

Obviously, the two punchers are not on the same level currently, but that does not stop the two men from making strolling and throwing tantrums at each other.

Jones will be looking to defend his 205-pound gold against Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC 239 on July 6 while Adesanya will also be seeking a win over Robert Whittaker in a middleweight title unification bout later this year.

However, “Bones”, as Jones is popularly called, in an interview at ESPN’s Ariel Helwani show spoke about how frail Adesanya could be facing him.

“Israel is light in the ass. He’s light. He’s skinny, he’s skinny. I put my hands on him and teach him a whole different world of hurt. For him to be so frail and to not have a ground game. It’s like bro, you don’t wanna do it. And then to talk about my stand-up against Anthony Smith, with his face all bubbled up against a short wrestler who did that to him, it was just hilarious. I barely get touched in my fights. So for Israel to talk about his striking skills like they’re so far ahead of mine, it’s hilarious. Just to sum up what I think about Israel, I think he’s a little too light in the ass, needs to eat some more jerk chicken and come holler at me.”

The rivalry between the two men soared when Adesanya insisted he is after Jones. However, Jones did not allow that sink down before throwing jabs back at Adesanya and boast he would humble him at the third round.
