Brandon Royval expresses disappointment about appearing on the preliminaries of UFC Kansas City, which Dana White acknowledges as a mistake

After his standout performance at UFC Kansas City, Brandon Royval has expressed his disinterest in fighting on the prelims again. Despite his victory against Matheus Nicolau, Royval was frustrated with the placement of the bout and vocalized his concerns to reporters.

Royval stated that he is the most dangerous fighter in his division and has consistently fought top-ranked opponents. Royval has received bonuses for Fight of the Night in each of his fights and is ranked second-highest on the card, which is why he felt that participating in the prelims was unwarranted.

Fortunately for Royval, UFC President Dana White acknowledged his concerns and agreed that he should not have been placed on the preliminary slate. White admitted that the UFC had made a mistake and that Royval should have been given a more prominent spot on the card.

Royval also seized the opportunity to position himself as the backup for the upcoming flyweight title fight between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja, scheduled for UFC 290 on July 8. Royval has previously faced and lost to both opponents, but he believes that he is ready to fight at that level again.

According to Royval and White, discussions are underway to secure his position as the backup for the July event. Royval’s confidence and impressive fighting stance have garnered support from fans and experts alike.

Royval is determined to continue making statements in the octagon and prove that he deserves a top spot in the UFC.
