The upcoming UFC event scheduled for July 1 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas is set to feature a bout between lightweights Grant Dawson and Damir Ismagulov. Dawson, who boasts an undefeated record of 7-0-1 in the UFC and beyond, has established himself as a promising potential future title contender since he moved up to the 155-pound division.
Having started his UFC journey as a featherweight, Dawson has been even more dominant in his new weight class – he’s recorded back-to-back finishes over Jared Gordon and Mark Madsen.
Dawson has his sights set on maintaining his unbeaten streak when he returns to the octagon in July to face Ismagulov, who previously announced his retirement but decided to step back into the game. Ismagulov has a 5-1 record in the UFC, and his sole loss occurred in December against his opponent, Arman Tsarukyan.
The July 1 UFC card will be headlined by a middleweight showdown between Sean Strickland and Abus Magomedov, with Dawson vs. Ismagulov rounding out the billing for the evening.
