Carlston Harris will face a new opponent on short notice at UFC Las Vegas.
Due to undisclosed reasons, Abubakar Nurmagomedov will not compete, and the UFC has recruited Jared Gooden to replace him just a few days before the March 11 event. On Wednesday, Harris’ team announced the change.
Gooden, who had a 1-3 record in his initial octagon stint between 2020 and 2021, has won four of his last five fights since departing from the company. In his latest appearance, he defeated Demarques Jackson, earning him another chance under the UFC banner.
Harris, a former Brave CF champion, won his first two UFC bouts with first-round finishes against Christian Aguilera and Impa Kasanganay. However, he lost to rising welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov in February 2022.
