The main event at UFC Las Vegas saw Merab Dvalishvili put on a masterclass performance, thoroughly dominating Petr Yan from start to finish.

In the UFC Las Vegas main event, Merab Dvalishvili put on a dominant performance against former champion Petr Yan, showcasing why he might just be the best bantamweight fighter without a title belt.

Dvalishvili broke a record with 48 takedown attempts over five rounds, mixing in heavy boxing combinations with an unrelenting wrestling attack that left Yan unable to find any offense of his own.

Despite some solid calf kicks from Yan, Dvalishvili’s pace and conditioning were unmatched, with his forward pressure and striking leaving Yan with significant swelling over his right eye.

While Dvalishvili recognized the personal significance of this win, he is biding his time for a title shot until his teammate and friend, Aljamain Sterling, decides to move up in weight class.

Nevertheless, Dvalishvili has proven himself to be a fierce competitor with an unbreakable spirit, and his hunger for a championship title remains as strong as ever.
